This paper summarizes the analysis undertaken by the CSCA as part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Vital Signs project.  Vital Signs is an indicator project that measures critical areas of economic, environmental and social concern in the GTA.  Vital Signs is the signature project of the Toronto Community Foundation.  It specifically was designed to promote discussion and citizen engagement on issues that relate to the quality of life in the Greater Toronto Area.  In addition to the economic indicators analyzed by CSCA, our two research partners at the University of Toronto and York University assessed the environmental and social indicators, respectively.  The original report can be accessed through the website www.torontovitalsigns.ca
